1 August 2024 AI Act enters into force
2 February 2025 Prohibited practices (Article 5) apply
2 August 2025 General-purpose AI rules (Chapter V) apply
2 August 2026 High-risk AI obligations (Chapter III) apply
2 August 2027 Full implementation for all provisions
